Premium wool carpet and custom rugs for Brisbane homes
Premium wool carpet, custom Axminster and made-to-order rugs for Brisbane homes. Samples brought to you, installed by our own team.
Cross Carpets is a Gold Coast flooring family, in the trade since 1966, and we travel to Brisbane for premium projects. If you're after natural wool, a custom Axminster design or a one-of-one rug, it's worth the drive for us and for you.
Brisbane's character homes, such as Queenslanders, worker's cottages and post-war houses, along with new architect-designed builds and riverside apartments, all suit natural fibre. Wool handles Brisbane's humidity well, resists staining without chemical coatings, and wears in rather than wearing out.
Our premium range for Brisbane clients:
- New Zealand wool carpet, including Bremworth Galet, Samurai, Marlo and Poraka, and Prestige ranges such as Antarctica, a heavy-duty twist suited to stairs.
- Custom Axminster carpet from the Capsule Collection (190+ designs, 12-colour palette) and the Kirman Collection, in 80% wool and 20% nylon, for projects from 20 m².
- Custom rugs made to your size, shape, colour and edge finish.
- Home cinema carpet for media rooms.
- Wool and sisal stair runners, a natural fit for the staircase of a renovated Queenslander.
How it works in Brisbane: send us your plans or room sizes, or call to talk through the project. We'll bring a curated sample selection to your home [confirm Brisbane visit days], so you choose in your own light. After a measure, you get one all-in quote covering take-up, underlay, carpet and installation by our own installers, not subcontractors.
Prefer to see everything? Our Southport showroom on the Gold Coast holds the full range and is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm, and on Saturday by appointment.
We also work with Brisbane interior designers and builders, and we've installed custom hotel carpet at the Novotel Hotel South Brisbane.
Older Brisbane homes often have hardwood floors worth keeping. In that case a custom wool or sisal rug may be the better answer than wall-to-wall carpet, and we'll say so.
